Teeth whitening, why?

More and more people want whiter teeth. Teeth darken over the years. This is due in part to food coloring and thinning enamel. Teeth whitening is an option for making teeth a few shades lighter.  It is important to know that crowns and fillings do not whiten.

The benefits at a glance

  • Fresh white teeth motivate you to keep your teeth clean.
  • Long lasting results.
  • Superficial discolourations disappear.

How do we proceed?

What options are there?

Depending on your needs and dental situation, we offer two options for teeth whitening: self-bleaching at home or professional whitening by a dentist or dental hygienist. Both methods are safe and effective, but differ in approach, intensity, and speed of results.

Home bleaching

If the dentist has discussed your wishes and expectations and you've decided to whiten your teeth, you can do so with home whitening. An impression is taken, and the laboratory then creates whitening trays. You'll be given syringes to insert into the trays. This allows you to whiten your teeth for 12-14 days, which you can repeat as needed. The advantage of the trays is that they are custom-made and can be reused multiple times. We'll explain how this works at the clinic. If you experience sensitivity, we recommend using a toothpaste formulated for sensitive teeth.

Professional bleaching (in the clinic)

If the dentist has discussed your wishes and expectations and you've decided to whiten your teeth, this can also be done in the clinic. This treatment takes a little longer; discuss the options with your dentist. If you experience sensitivity, we recommend using a toothpaste formulated for sensitive teeth.

Specific question?

Schedule a no-obligation intake

It's helpful to have a look with the dentist during an intake. We'll discuss the options and your expectations. Based on this, the dentist will create a personalized treatment plan. You can then decide for yourself if this is what you want.

How does the intake process proceed?

Interview

During an intake appointment, the dentist (specialist) will examine the condition of your teeth. We use the latest techniques for this. We'll let you observe and discuss the options together. Naturally, we'll also assess your expectations.

Treatment plan / Budget

We create a customized treatment plan with an accompanying budget and, if necessary, propose various solutions. If authorization from your health insurer is required, we can also arrange that for you.

Planning and starting treatment

After you've approved the budget, we'll create a schedule. It's important that all appointments are scheduled in the correct order with the right practitioner. We'll also ask about your preferred days and times. After scheduling, we look forward to starting your treatment!
