Switching health insurance

Briefly

The end of 2025 is approaching, and we'll soon be welcoming 2026. This means the new insurance year begins on January 1st. In this blog post, we'll explain what you should consider when choosing your health insurance and what deadlines you should be aware of.

Are you considering changing your health insurance?

The deadline for this varies by insurer. The switching period is always at the end of the year, and in most cases, it runs from mid-November to December 31st. Switching is no longer possible after January 1st.

Cancel current health insurer

Thinking about switching insurers? You have until mid-January to cancel your current health insurer retroactively, even if you've already taken out a new policy.

Make an informed choice

It's always wise to carefully consider your health insurance and any potential changes and take action promptly to ensure you have the right coverage for the coming year. To make a good choice, you can estimate your healthcare needs next year and compare different health insurers.

Important aspects of dental care

When choosing supplementary dental insurance, it's best to first check which services are covered by your insurer. Some insurers only cover basic care, while others also cover crowns, bridges, and other specialized dental care. Also consider the reimbursement percentage and whether there's a maximum annual reimbursement amount.
