Introduction & intake

We begin with a personal introductory meeting. During this consultation, we'll listen to your wishes and needs, discuss your dental health, and take photos or x-rays if necessary. This gives us a complete picture of your situation.

Customized treatment plan

Based on the intake, we'll create a treatment plan tailored to your specific situation. Whether it involves regular checkups, preventive care, cosmetic treatments, or more complex procedures, we'll clearly explain the steps involved, what you can expect, and how long the process will take.

Implementation & aftercare

What is a bridge?

A dental bridge is a fixed dental replacement that fills missing teeth. This can be for one or more teeth. The filling is done using a structure that rests on the adjacent teeth or implants. Crowns are placed on the existing teeth, and the artificial teeth are attached between them. The difference with a crown is that a dental bridge can replace multiple teeth, while a crown replaces a single damaged tooth. Curious if a crown might be the right solution for you? How does placing a bridge work?

Placing a bridge over your teeth is a multi-step process. We'll guide you through every step. Whether you choose a bridge or one of our specialists recommends it, we'll always walk you through it. This way, you'll know what to expect and what to expect.

  1. Intake: your wishes are discussed, X-rays are taken, and we draw up your personal treatment plan.
  2. Preparation: The adjacent teeth that will receive the bridge crowns are ground down. This is to protect your teeth and create space for the bridge.
  3. Temporary bridge: you will receive a temporary provision to protect your teeth until the final product is ready, so that you will not be left without it.

Maintenance and lifespan of a bridge

A bridge typically lasts 10 to 15 years. Proper maintenance is crucial for this. Here are some tips for maintaining your bridge:

  • Brush your teeth at least twice a day
  • Use special brushes and/or dental floss for under your bridge
  • Visit your dentist regularly

It's possible that the bridge on your teeth is loose or that inflammation develops under the bridge. You can always contact us if this happens, and we'll resolve it for you.

 

Costs and compensation of bridges

The price of a bridge varies considerably. This depends on the number of teeth that need to be replaced, the material used, and the complexity of the treatment. The average cost of a bridge is between €900 and €3.000. Keep in mind that this may vary depending on your specific situation. A bridge on a single tooth costs less than a larger bridge on multiple teeth. You will always be informed about the cost of a bridge during your consultation, so you know exactly what to expect and won't encounter any surprises.

It's possible that (part of) the costs will be covered by supplementary dental insurance. We recommend checking with your health insurer directly to get a complete picture.

How does the intake process proceed?

Interview

During an intake appointment, the dentist (specialist) will examine the condition of your teeth. We use the latest techniques for this. We'll let you observe and discuss the options together. Naturally, we'll also assess your expectations.

Treatment plan / Budget

We create a customized treatment plan with an accompanying budget and, if necessary, propose various solutions. If authorization from your health insurer is required, we can also arrange that for you.

Planning and starting treatment

After you've approved the budget, we'll create a schedule. It's important that all appointments are scheduled in the correct order with the right practitioner. We'll also ask about your preferred days and times. After scheduling, we look forward to starting your treatment!

Alongside his career in motorsport, Jack has always been active as a dental implantologist. He studied dentistry in Amsterdam and obtained his PhD in 1992 at the then KU Nijmegen based on research into the treatment effects of immediate overdentures and conventional immediate dentures. CDC knows Jack from the past, where he enjoyed working with the team back then. As of October 1, 2025, he is making his return to CDC as Chief of Clinic. Giulio studied Dentistry in Madrid and graduated from the University Alfonso X El Sabio in 2015. After a short work experience, Giulio moved to the Netherlands and gained five years of work experience. Giulio also further specialized in Endodontics, Aesthetic Dentistry, Prosthetics and Surgery. Giulio works 50% at CDC and 50% in a Clinic in Lombardy (Italy).

Karen Mulders

Karen has been a dentist at CDC since 2001. After graduating from Utrecht University, she established her own practice in Zeist and later in Rotterdam. Her specialty is cosmetic/aesthetic dentistry. Joana comes from Portugal, where she successfully completed her university dental training. In 2021, Joana moved to the Netherlands with her boyfriend and has enjoyed working at CDC for years now. It's a wonderful challenge, and she's still grateful for it every day. "We strive for perfection in terms of bite, shape, and color. My colleagues from the laboratory also come into the room to see how the crowns or veneers look on the patient. Before we finally place any work, we can still make adjustments. During his first years at CDC, he completed his dental technology degree at the DHTA in Utrecht. He's now been working at CDC for twelve years and has enjoyed working as the laboratory manager for the past four years. Four years ago, Coen successfully completed his Dentistry degree at Utrecht University of Applied Sciences. This allows him to maintain interaction with patients, which he truly enjoys.

What are the disadvantages of a bridge on your teeth?

A bridge requires grinding down your healthy teeth. The bridge also needs to be replaced after some time (on average, 10 to 15 years).

How do you clean the bridge on your teeth?

We recommend using special brushes and/or dental floss to thoroughly clean the area under the bridge. In addition, brushing regularly and maintaining good oral hygiene are important.

What should I do: a bridge or implants?

Both offer a good solution. An implant is often more durable than a bridge, but a bridge may be a better fit if there's insufficient jawbone or several adjacent teeth are missing. During your consultation with our specialist, we'll discuss the best solution for your situation.
