How do we proceed?

During an intake, we perform an oral examination and discuss your wishes and expectations.

During this appointment, impressions will be taken to create a temporary, also known as an immediate, denture. Together, we'll determine the color based on color samples. This appointment can take place immediately after the initial consultation if you'd like to schedule the treatment right away.

Which teeth still need to be extracted?

The next step is to extract the remaining teeth. This is done under local anesthesia, but can also be done under general anesthesia if you are very apprehensive or afraid of it. We have experience with treatments under general anesthesia, as well as with clients who are afraid of the dentist. The wounds are sutured, and the immediate dentures are placed on the jaws. You should keep these in as much as possible, as they act as a bandage on the wounds.

Remove stitches and adjust fit.

After a week, you'll return for stitch removal. Any pressure points will be removed, and a soft liner will be placed in your dentures. A soft liner is a soft material that ensures a better fit. Your jaws will heal and therefore change position somewhat..

New plastic layer and adjusted fit.

Final Thoughts: Take the Next Step   is for a so-called rebase. The softliner is removed and a new impression is made with the current denture. For this, your denture and the impression are sent to our dental laboratory. A new impression is made.

Permanent dentures, final adjustments.

Now it's time to replace your immediate dentures with your permanent ones. Impressions will be taken using your current dentures. We'll discuss the color, shape, and size of your permanent dentures again. The denture with the impression will be sent to our in-house lab for the fabrication of your new permanent dentures. After about four hours, we'll have your new dentures ready.   Dentures are ready. Together, we'll look at the shape, color, and position of your teeth. If everything is approved, we'll finish the dentures, and you'll get your immediate dentures back.

Permanent dentures ready!

The day has now arrived for you to receive your new, permanent dentures. You can take the immediate denture home with you to use as a backup if needed.

A comfortable alternative: click-in dentures

In addition to traditional dentures, we also specialize in making snap-on dentures. These are removable prostheses that click onto implants in your jaw. This provides extra stability and comfort during wear. The implants ensure the snap-on dentures are securely in place and won't shift while eating or speaking. How does the intake process proceed?

Interview

During an intake appointment, the dentist (specialist) will examine the condition of your teeth. We use the latest techniques for this. We'll let you observe and discuss the options together. Naturally, we'll also assess your expectations.

Treatment plan / Budget

We create a customized treatment plan with an accompanying budget and, if necessary, propose various solutions. If authorization from your health insurer is required, we can also arrange that for you.

Planning and starting treatment

After you've approved the budget, we'll create a schedule. It's important that all appointments are scheduled in the correct order with the right practitioner. We'll also ask about your preferred days and times. After scheduling, we look forward to starting your treatment!

Alongside his career in motorsport, Jack has always been active as a dental implantologist. He studied dentistry in Amsterdam and obtained his PhD in 1992 at the then KU Nijmegen based on research into the treatment effects of immediate overdentures and conventional immediate dentures. CDC knows Jack from the past, where he enjoyed working with the team back then. As of October 1, 2025, he is making his return to CDC as Chief of Clinic. Giulio studied Dentistry in Madrid and graduated from the University Alfonso X El Sabio in 2015. After a short work experience, Giulio moved to the Netherlands and gained five years of work experience. Giulio also further specialized in Endodontics, Aesthetic Dentistry, Prosthetics and Surgery. Giulio works 50% at CDC and 50% in a Clinic in Lombardy (Italy).

Karen has been a dentist at CDC since 2001. After graduating from Utrecht University, she established her own practice in Zeist and later in Rotterdam. Her specialty is cosmetic/aesthetic dentistry. During his first years at CDC, he completed his dental technology degree at the DHTA in Utrecht. He's now been working at CDC for twelve years and has enjoyed working as the laboratory manager for the past four years. Four years ago, Coen successfully completed his Dentistry degree at Utrecht University of Applied Sciences. This allows him to maintain interaction with patients, which he truly enjoys.

Why are cosmetic and implant treatments sometimes cheaper abroad?

There are several options abroad where you see beautiful photos in the media with impressive final results. However, be careful! Sometimes the results are very disappointing. Many patients regret this afterward, and then the dentist abroad is often no longer available.

Can you also provide advice about the anesthesia during the intake?

You can discuss any questions you have with the dentist during your initial consultation. If anything remains unclear afterward, please feel free to contact us. We have friendly colleagues available by phone, and we also have healthcare consultants who can answer any questions you may have.

I haven't been to the dentist in a long time, and I'm hesitant to make an appointment. How do you handle that?

Admitting you're afraid of the dentist is a good first step. Ask a family member or friend to accompany you to the clinic. Also, let us know at our clinic that you're genuinely afraid. We'll tailor a treatment plan to your needs and listen carefully to your wishes.

Am I required to take out dental insurance?

Taking out insurance isn't required. However, it is recommended if you're considering cosmetic or restorative dental treatment. During the consultation, the dentist will advise you and provide you with a preliminary estimate.
